Summer Camp classes are designed to provide an age appropriate introduction to sailing. Our small class sizes and experienced staff create a great space for learning

Jellyfish

6 - 8 Years

Monday - Friday from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

$295 - Scholarships Available

Our Jellyfish program offers a great space to build comfort in sailboats. Sailors will learn basic boating concepts and go sailing each day with a staff member. This program is a great fit for younger sailors and sailors who want to gain confidence and comfort before sailing on their own.

Classes focus on:

  • Learning sailing concepts through activities and games 
  • Developing basic water safety skills
  • Building comfort on boats
  • Basic sailing vocabulary
  • Basic rigging and steering skills
  • Sailing with an instructor

Jellyfish classes are held in c420's at our Wollochet Bay location only. Please check class locations carefully during registration.

Youth

This camp is specially designed for youth ages 8-12. We focus on having fun, learning and developing great friendships. Camp is for those with basic to no boating or sailing experience. The goal is to help campers become competent with sailing skills.

Classes focus on:

  • Sail independently in Cubes and O’pen Skiffs
  • Developing basic water safety skills
  • Learning to tack, gibe, steer, and trim
  • Knot tying
  • Learning unique sailing vocabulary

Youth classes are held in Prams and O'pen Skiffs at West Shore Marina, and Prams and Optis at Wollochet Bay. Please check class location carefully.

Opti Intermediate

Monday - Friday from 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM 

$525 -  Scholarships Available

This camp is designed for sailors who have successfully completed Youth camp, and who have been recommended by their instructors to advance to an Intermediate level. Opti Intermediate sailors enjoy a week of building skills to prepare for the Opti Race Team program. The purpose of these camps is to provide advanced sailing skills including:

  • Basic racing skills
  • Advanced rigging and tuning
  • Advanced sail trim and steering
  • Rules of racing
  • Introduction to practice drills and format
  • Teamwork and cooperation

Opti Intermediate classes are held in Optis at our West Shore Marina location only. Please check class location carefully.

Why Sailing?

Sailing is an excellent way to build leadership, self-reliance, and confidence for kids. Our sailors come back year after year to see friends, enjoy the outdoors, and have an adventure. Many sailors go on to participate in our race team programs, and become staff members.
