Who We Are

Our mission is to provide a safe, fun, and educational environment for the healthy development of youth through sailing. Gig Harbor Junior Sailing is a 501(c)3 Non-profit organization, established in 2010 for the purpose of teaching sailing & water safety to youth. Our programs develop local sailors at all skill levels and challenge them to achieve confidence and independence on the water.

We have several members in our community, all of which are dedicated to healthy youth development and a love for sailing:

  • Volunteer Board of Directors
  • Our Organization Partners
  • Donors and Sponsors
  • Our Full-Time and Seasonal Staff
  • Narrows Race Team Sailors & Families
  • Our Sail Camp Families
  • And... YOU!

Our vision is simple - for our programs to be accessible to more people of current and future generations.

A competitive race team and robust family/adult program are natural extensions we desire. Giving back to the program by the sailors and their parents is a key to our success.

We strive to attain a permanent waterfront home in the harbor and to showcase our beautiful harbor by hosting regional events.

What is Next?

We are thrilled with our progress and momentum over the last 14 years, and excited for the future.

2023 was an excellent year for our organization, and we have big goals in mind for 2024. We are looking forward to pursuing a waterfront facility to call home, supporting more underserved youth in our scholarship program, and strengthening our program staff and race teams.
